Silver Dollar & Red Bellied Pacu Growth

I have had Silver Dollars for over 2 years now so I thought I would provide some information on there growth. When I first got them they were juviniles and within the first 8 months they reach full size.  The Spotted Silver Dollars seem to be the smaller of the species at 3” as the Common Silver Dollars, Tiger Striped,  are quite a bit bigger at 5”. I am currently growing out 3 Red Bellied Pacu I  bought all at 1” in length so I will be tracking there growth as well. Below are some stats of there growth:


2 Silver Dollars (Metynnis Altidorsalis)(Expected to reach 5-6 inches)

May 2016 : 5 inches

November 2016 : 5 inches (Full Grown)


4 Spotted Silver Dollars (Metynnis Maculatus) (expected to reach 3.5-4 inches)
-December 2014 (Purchased): 1.5-2 inches
-June 2015 : 3 inches
-January 2016 : 3 inches

-October 2016 : 3 inches

-November 2016 : 3 inches (Full grown)


 

3 Common Silver Dollars (Metynnis Hypsauchen) (expected to reach 5-6 inches)
-February 2015 (Purchased) : 1 inch
-June 2015 : 3.75-4 inches (They grew fast)
-January 2016 : 3.75 inches (No growth in length but seem to be thickening up a bit)
-February 2016 : Both 4″ now (They are thickening up nicely)

-November 2016 : 5″ (Full grown)


 

2 Tiger Striped Silver Dollars (Metynnis Fasciatus) (Expected to reach 5-6 inches)
-Bought February 2016 at 1.5 inches
-May 2016: 3 inches

-October 2016: 4″ and 5″

-November 2016: 4″ and 5″ (Full grown)


3 Red Bellied Pacu (Piaractus Brachypomus) (Expected to reach 30″)

– August 29, 2016 (Purchased): 1″

-October 13, 2016: (2 are 4.5″)(2 are 5″)

-October23, 2016: (1 is 4.5″)(1 is 5″)(2 are 6″)

-November 20, 2016: (7”)

– December 10, 2016 (8”)

-January 8, 2017 Got rid of 1(to aggressive) -(2 are 10″)(1 is 11″)

As far as water changes go I normally do a 27% water change every other day to maintain superior water quality to keep growth at its peak. Every couple weeks I will do a 50% water change to keep the nitrates low.
